As the most southerly point of the Labrador Current, Holyrood harbour is the perfect test location for underwater sea trials and testing. One of the groups taking advantage of the pristine waters and Arctic like conditions is a group led by Dr. Neil Bose, vice-president (research), and a group of international collaborators attempting to enhance the capability of Canada’s autonomous marine robotics to support oil spill response.

Using cutting-edge technology and AUVs, the team of students, researchers, and industry professionals are conducting valuable testing and providing critical hands-on training for students.
